- Requires Windows 2000, XP, Vista, or Windows 7.
- Requires Java 5+. If you don't already have Java, please get it from java.com.
- Download the installer (below) and run it.
- If you want to uninstall the program later, you can do so in the normal way.

- Download the DMG file and open it.
- Drag the leafChat icon into your Applications folder.

Linux and other operating systems
- Requires Java 5+. If you don't already have Java 5+, please get it from java.com.
- Non-Oracle Java implementations may not work. If you experience problems with these, please use the Oracle/OpenJDK implementation.
- Expand the zip file to a suitable location where you want to keep the program.
- Double-click on leafchat.jar to run, or run
java -jar leafchat.jarfrom the command line.
